Is your organization a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization?

The foundation funds IRS registered 501(c)(3) organizations. The foundation does not fund private foundation, individuals, or public charities with a non-private foundation status of 509(a)(3).

Does your organization primarily serve residents of central Indiana?

The foundation funds organizations that primarily benefit Indianapolis and surrounding counties, including Marion, Hamilton, Hancock, Boone, Madison, Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan, and Shelby.

Does your request fit the foundation focus areas?

We consider requests that advance the education, community, and health goals of the Ackerman Foundation. We consider requests for general operating, program support, and capital campaign support.
